What Is the Function of the Air Valve?

2024-08-24

As the core component of the compressor, the core function of the air valve is to accurately control the flow of gas in and out of the cylinder. It consists of several key parts: valve seat, valve plate, spring and lift limiter. These four work together to ensure the precise control of gas flow. The action between the valve plate and the valve seat directly determines the opening and sealing of the gas channel, which is the key to controlling the gas flow.

The spring has two functions in this system: one is to serve as the driving force for the valve plate to close, ensuring that the gas can be quickly and tightly closed when it is not needed to flow; the other is to act as a buffer to reduce the collision between the valve plate and the lift limiter during the opening process and extend the service life of the components. The lift limiter is responsible for constraining the maximum opening height of the valve plate and serves as a support point for the spring to ensure the stable operation of the entire system.

The opening and closing mechanism of the air valve is particularly unique. It relies on the natural balance of the gas pressure difference inside and outside the cylinder and the spring force. It does not require an additional power source. Its performance is directly related to the energy efficiency and stability of the compressor.

In addition, considering the various working environments that the air valve may face, such as high temperature, high pressure, corrosion, etc., it is also necessary to give it excellent toughness, wear resistance and corrosion resistance to ensure long-term stable operation.

In addition to the compressor field, the air valve also plays an important role in the gas processing industry. In the pipeline system, it is the key to regulating the flow direction and flow of gas; in automobiles and mechanical equipment, it has a profound impact on engine performance and environmental protection standards by finely controlling the flow of fuel and exhaust gas.
